Mégan
Raised-up in Boise, Idaho, Mégan has an abiding passion for the Western frontier and all things nature. She has the heart of a cowgirl and the soul of a gardener. And although she loves living in Portland and running her small, mom-and-pop business here, she would almost always rather be riding horses on the range … especially painted ponies. |

Mandie
Mandie grew up “bucking” hay, tooling around on a tractor and driving cattle on her family’s ranch outside Emmet, Idaho. With her enthusiasm for growing ornamentals and edibles side-by-side, her love of caring for animals and her Old West roots, Mandie embodies the Pistils Nursery vision of bringing a little bit of the country into the big city. |

Coco
A few years back, Coco traded in his longtime career in the media (newspaper reporter, graphic designer, tv producer) for a pair of Carharts and a flat-headed shovel. As a designer and project manager for Pistils Design, Coco gets to apply his well-honed creative skills while having his fingers in the dirt, instead of having them mercilessly hovering over a keyboard. |

Michelle
Michelle’s work at Pistils is the latest addition to her multi-faced resumé, which includes such unique jobs as national park ranger, zookeeper, sea kayaking guide and professional dancer. Her far-reaching knowledge of plants and animals make her an invaluable member of the Pistils’ fam. And if you’re interested in Taiko drumming, she’s the one to ask. |

Tim
Always eager to re-think standard practices and find creative ways to live with a lesser impact on our planet, Tim provides us with a daily reality-check, which is much appreciated. He especially enjoys snacking on Kettleman’s salt bagels (the closest thing he can find to his native-Philly soft pretzel) while nurturing ‘Pink Oyster’ mushroom spawn and/or watching ‘The Wire.’ |

Katie
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Katie has studied extensively in the field of landscape architecture. Her great passion lies in educating folks about the practices of organic agriculture, especially permaculture. She’s just back from Thailand’s Pun Pun, an organic farm that specializes in seed saving and sustainable agriculture. Ask her about it. |

Becca
Becca has been working around plants for as long as she can remember. Having had landscaping and nursery jobs in many diverse climates and communities — from Indiana to New Mexico to Hawaii — Becca has developed a great range of know-how and a deep appreciation for treading lightly on the earth. |

Jennifer
Jennifer’s love for gardening has taken her around the world. She has worked on farms in New Zealand, Mexico, Canada, Hawaii and around the western U.S., gathering a remarkable wealth of knowledge and experience. And her extensive background in Ecological Horticulture helps guide Pistils in its drive for sustainability. |
